Remembering Abe Halon

Due to professional photography copyright, every time a portrait I created is used in public, I receive a Google alert. This specific Google alert warmed my heart because this is an article that was published yesterday in the Jerusalem Post about my father. I love the article written so beautifully by rabbi Areyah Kaltmann.

When my dad me to create studio portraits for him a year and a half ago I didn’t think about it twice, of course! My dad and I had such a great time in the studio, and he lasted in front of my camera longer than I thought he would before he said ‘Ok, enough’, and we both walked away laughing.

To have these portraits of my dad is such a treasure. I printed a wall art from one of these portraits and it was with us during his funeral service last month. My family in Israel also printed one of these portraits and used it during the celebration of life event they held for my father in Israel for our family and friends.

And I love seeing my dad’s smiling face show up on my Google alert. It floods me with all the beautiful memories from this portrait session my dad and I shared. What a gift.
