When my client uses her portrait for the cover of her new book!
Krista and I met in 2020 when I desperately needed fresh air and ocean time, and hired Krista for private yoga on the beach lessons.
For a couple of years, once a week, I drove 90 minutes each way to meet Krista on the beach for some physical and soul comforting time. Our times together on the beach hold some of my favorite memories from these crazy years.
At one point Krista came into my studio for some fresh portraits. We had a lovely portrait session, and I absolutely love the portraits we created for this oh so strong yet gentle woman.
I loved delivering and hanging Krista's wall art, and I always enjoy it when I see one of the images, we created pop up on Krista's social media.
But a couple of weeks ago Krista called with some exciting news - she wrote a book!
As someone who wrote a book herself, I know how hard the book writing process can be, and when the author is ready to present it to the world - it feels almost like a birth. So I was VERY excited for Krista!
And imagine my joy when Krista told me she chose to use one of her portraits - on the book cover!
Naturally, it was a tough decision for Krista to make. She thought this may translate as vanity...but, when she saw her portrait on the cover of her new book for the first time - she knew it was PERFECT!
On the phone, Krista and I talked about why this image is so perfect for the cover of her memoir book, and I said - it was perfect, because this image is a perfect reflection of her.
And I am not surprised.
My goal is to create a perfect portrait for all of my clients, and I put a lot of time and energy into the process - long before I pick up the camera to actually photograph them.
That is how we create the perfect portrait.
I am so excited for Krista, and so proud of her new book! Click below to read a short excerpt from Krista's new book:
